Gliophorus psittacinus — Parrot Waxy-cap  — Tricholomataceae


Small mushroom. Cap bell-shaped, becoming broadly umbonate, margin striate, surface viscid, smooth, near emerald-green, fading to olive and  lighter at the margin. Gills attached, well-spaced and thickish, very pale green, darkening like the cap. Stalk equal, slender, slippery; yellow, changing color like the cap. Uncertain whether saprophytic or mycorrhizal.

Synonym – Hygrocybe psittacina, Hygrophorus psittacinus
 
Habitat: In scattered small groups in conifer forests.

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: White

Season: Autumn
