Small to medium cup mushroom. Cuplike cap maturing to urn-shaped, fragile, contorted when in groups, cracking with age, light brown to medium brown inside, sometimes wrinkled, outer surface tan to whitish, granular. Stalk absent or a narrowed stem. Saprophytic.



Habitat: Scattered on disturbed ground, often growing on manure.

Scent: Mild

Spores: White

Season: Autumn through Spring
