Mycena stylobates — Bulbous Bonnet — Mycenaceae


Small mushroom. Conical bald cap, maturing to bell-shaped to flattened, curving back with age, with central umbo, whitish to gray. Gills closely spaced when young, expanding. Small gills present. Pale gray maturing to whitish. Tall stalk, on flat, grooved disc, with whitish fibrils or tiny hairs, becoming smooth. Bluish-gray to gray.
 
Habitat: In troops on leaves and debris in coniferous forest.

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: White

Season: Autumn
