Small mushroom. Conical purplish-red cap, aging to convex or planar with curled-up edge dry, velvety or frosted appearing when fresh. Gills attached to free, whitish to pinkish or like cap. Tall thin stalk, colored like cap or paler. Saprophytic.

Habitat: Solitary to gregarious, litter and debris in forest or brush.

Scent: Mild

Spores: White

Season: Summer to Autumn
