Marasmius epiphyllus  — Leaf Parachute — Marasmiaceae


Small mushroom. Conical whitish cap, aging to convex or planar, staining pinkish with age.  Gills widely spaced, attached to slightly decurrent, veined, white, reddish with age. Tall thin stalk, whitish beneath cap, rusty to reddish-brown below.  Saprophytic.

Habitat: Solitary to gregarious, decaying wood, birch or aspen, on some rotting perennial stems.

Scent: Mild

Spores: White

Season: Summer to Autumn
