Small to medium mushroom. Conical to bell-shaped cap, broadening, with a prominent umbo. Silky or hairy, straw-yellow to yellowish-brown, with the margin splitting.   Gills pinkish or whitish, aging to grayish or pale brown, attached although separating.  Stalk as tall as cap diameter, equal, dry and smooth, or silky, whitish to pale yellow. Habitat: Scattered to gregarious, terrestrial in coniferous forest. 

Scent: Pungent, spermatic, sometimes none.

Spores: Brown

Season: Autumn
