Inocybe pudica — Blushing Inocybe — Inocybaceae


Small to medium mushroom. Conical to bell-shaped whitish cap, maturing to convex or planar, with an umbo, and aging to buff to orangish or reddish. Surface dry, sometimes with fibrils, or smooth. Gills pinkish, aging to grayish or pale brown, close, and attached, notched, or free. Stalk as tall as cap diameter, equal or with swollen base, smooth or silky, becoming pinkish or orange. Mycorrhizal.

Habitat: Scattered to gregarious, terrestrial in coniferous forest.  

Scent: Pungent, spermatic

Spores: Brown

Season: Autumn
