Hygrophorus chrysodon  — Golden Wax-cap — Hygrophoraceae


Small to medium mushroom. Convex cap, margin inrolled, aging to planar, umbonate, smooth surface, viscid when wet. White with yellow flakes. Stalk whitish with orange granules on upper part. Decurrent gills, separated, white. Veil remnants on stalk. Saprophytic.
 
Habitat: Scattered to large groups, Douglas-fir and Western Hemlock forest.

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: White

Season: Autumn
