Helvella crispa — Fluted White Elfin Saddle — Helvellaceae


Medium size mushroom. Cap obscurely saddle-shaped or irregular; margin not attached to the stalk. Upper surface whitish to pale gray, smooth to bumpy; lower surface colored as above, but minutely hairy. Stalk equal, fluted and chambered, extending as ribs onto the underside of the cap; colored as the cap. Saprophytic.
 
 
Habitat:  Scattered in deep debris under Douglas-fir. 

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: White

Season: Autumn
