Medium annual polypore. Fruiting body a thin, fanlike shelf, sometimes overlapping with others; surface dry, hairy, soft; rusty-orange with paler zones. Pores small, orangish to dark yellow. Saprophytic.
 
 
Habitat: Usually solitary on well-rotted conifer logs and stumps. 

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: White

Season: Autumn
