Leucoagaricus leucothites — White Dapperling — Agaricaceae


Medium to large-sized mushroom, young cap irregular or rounded, maturing to bell-shaped or flat. Dull white to cream-colored cap smooth, sometimes scaly with age, becoming grayish. Tall stalk whitish to grayish, pinkish to brown when bruised, somewhat expanded at base. Ring prominent, pinkish to gray. Gills free, close, white.

Habitat: Typically found in human disturbed areas, such as grass, gardens. Also in forests.

Scent: Mild to unpleasant

Spores: White to pale pink

Season: Autumn
