Gymnopus luxurians — Agaricaceae


Medium-sized mushroom with reddish brown cap fades to pale brown; cap incurved becoming convex and flattened with age, sometimes streaked. Gills white to cream-colored, fading to buff; closely packed, attached, notched. Brown stalk stout when young, maturing to slender, tough. Veil absent.

Habitat: Small groups on wood chips, grassy areas. Sometimes on logs and stumps.

Scent: Not distinctive.

Spores: White

Season: Summer to autumn
